Up to 30% of urban traffic is caused by drivers searching for parking spaces. Especially in cities like LA, a smart parking system would be incredibly beneficial to reduce traffic congestion and make the overall quality of life better for residents and tourists. Congestion can lead to a whole new set of issues.
Traffic congestion leads to longer travel times and increased carbon emissions. More than 50,000 crashes occur in parking lots every year. That represents 20 percent of all automobile accidents.
With the 2028 LA Olympics approaching, there is an urgent need to make significant improvements to the city's urban mobility to ensure it meets the demands of both its residents and visitors. LA’s transportation infrastructure is in need of quality of life upgrades.
What We Offer
While the idea of smart parking is not a new concept, the ParkLink project offers a new and efficient solution to not only LA’s ongoing parking challenges but any city faced with the same struggles. By combining LiDAR sensors with Bluetooth mesh networking, the system provides real-time parking availability and navigation to users through our companion app, significantly reducing the time spent searching for spaces. Our smart parking solution also contributes to the solution of reducing traffic congestion, increasing safety, and enhancing overall quality of life in urban environments.
Scaling ParkLink
As we move forward, gathering data through pilot tests, securing funding, and collaborating with Cal Poly Pomona, city officials and private partners will be critical in scaling ParkLink to meet the needs of Los Angeles and beyond. ParkLink will revolutionize parking management and solve a growing urban challenge with our smart parking solution.
