ParkLink was founded by two undergraduate students at Cal Poly Pomona: Joseph Kim, a third-year Civil Engineering student, and Tanay Sadhwani, an Electromechanical Systems Engineering student. The idea for ParkLink emerged late at 2am in early September, during their first week of college in their dorm room. Both students were driven to find a solution after experiencing LA’s frustrating parking challenges firsthand.
Tanay Sadhwani is an undergraduate Electromechanical Systems Engineering student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He uses his background in robotics, mechanical, electrical, design, and programming engineering to develop prototypes for the product to exist. With a hands-on approach, he bridges the gap between concept and reality, constantly refining and improving designs to meet project goals.
Joseph Kim is an undergraduate Civil Engineering student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He uses his civil engineering background to create clear and organized proposal plans, research documents, and efficient and sustainable parking solutions. Joseph focuses on problem solving, managing project details, and turning ideas into practical solutions that work in the real world.
Together, Tanay and Joseph work together utilizing the tools and resources around them including Cal Poly Pomona facilities, talking to professors or companies, and even working with friends to make this project come to life.
